The 150 Years Jubilee of the New Apostolic Church worldwide of which the GKBI is a member, was celebrated on 11th May at Gombong Church. A very elaborate program of choirs, Anklung, keyboards and violins appealed very much to the audience. Among the guests were representatives from the Regents office and Christian Ministers and local media.

The District Apostle elaborates in a short speech what is new about the church. Why the name New Apostolic Church when we celebrate already 150 years? “New” refers to the apostolicity in the Christian Church. The New Apostolic Church as a ministry and sacrament based church believes in the need for active and living carriers of the Apostle’s ministry as Jesus Christ established it in His church in the beginning. Another Jubilee Celebration is planned in Jakarta on Nov 30 where all Apostles and National Rectors of NAC South East Asia are expected.

Indonesia is the only country in Asia where Ascension Day is a holiday. The District Apostle therefore toured the working area of Ap. Samuel Hadiwidagdo conducting 5 Divine Services.

The highlight was on Sunday 12th May when in Banjarpanepen Church 72 young Members made their confirmation vow. The Ascension Day message this year was based on 1. Peter 3:22. All things are subject to Christ. This is our comfort and strength and also allows us to be assured of our own ascension at Jesus’ return.
