Every year comes Christmas and then Holy Week, the celebrations of the most significant historical events ever. “Risen Christ, Our Hope” shall be so prominent and aware in our mind and heart every day, yet Easter is the day when we shall take time to reflect on the history and the meaning for the future. “Risen Christ, Faith’s reality”
Acts 4: 33 And with great power the Apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.
Easter emphasizes God’s actions in history. Jesus’ resurrection and the empty grave show that it was indeed God who had acted here, and that His actions can also be recognized by human beings. The resurrection served to confirm that Jesus had been sent by the Father. When human beings come to recognize actions of God in the past and present, they can also be certain of His actions of salvation in the future. It is upon this that our faith and confidence are based. We want to profess it.
The New Testament unanimously attests that Jesus Christ truly resurrected from the dead. There are a great many persons who confirm this. All early Christian preaching about the significance of Jesus’ death for salvation is based on this testimony. To this day, all Christians trust in this testimony, which is recorded for all time in Scripture. The Holy Spirit keeps belief in this message alive.
UNDERSTANDING EASTER
“The resurrection of Jesus Christ has been proclaimed in the teaching of the Apostles right from the start as the core element of the gospel. It is the foundation of hope for life eternal. Jesus Christ made it possible to undo both death and mankind’s separation from God. Belief in the resurrection of ‘Christ, the firstfruits’ from the dead is the basis for our belief in the resurrection of the dead in Christ and the transformation of the living upon His return”
HAPPY EASTER GREETINGS TO ALL
