8 divine services in 8 days, through land-sea-air journeys, that described Apostle Samuel Hadiwidagdo’s trip along with his entourage to serve the children of God on Borneo Island, the third biggest island in the world.
Apostle started his service in Brunei Muara congregation, Bandar Seri Begawan (9/7) and administered a wedding blessing to a different-nationality couple: Indonesia-the Philippines. Brunei Muara congregation still has to rent a place to have this divine service, because of the difficulty of licensing to build church. The members are brothers and sisters who come from Java and have worked there. Priest Ngalimun who comes from Banjarpanepen is the rector, being helped by 1 priest and 2 deacon.
From Brunei Darussalam the entourage continued their trip to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, and then continued with a road trip to Keningau. The terrain was pretty tough because they have to go through the foggy peak of Kinabalu. The next divine service was conducted in Keningau congregation (10/7) by renting a place in Keningau marketplace. In this divine service, Apostle Samuel ordained Peter S. Muniandi, a police officer of Royal Malaysia who works in Sabah, as a Priest. The next trip was to serve the children of God in Dalit congregation (11/7), and also an opportunity to visit Deacon Johanes in Tenom who comes from Flores.
The next service was carried out in Kuala congregation, Sarawak (12/7) and Selambong congregation (13/7). The members of these congregations mostly stay together in a longhouse inhabited by dozen of families. On the next day (14/7), the trip was continued to Mengkak congregation in Sarawak by using water transport across the lake Lubok Antu used for hydropower. Brother Alister was ordained a Deacon to help God’s work there. As a closing service in Kalimantan island, Apostle Samuel served in Pontianak congregation on Sunday, July 16, 2017 and dispensed the Holy Sealing to 4 souls and granted a ruby wedding anniversary for Priest Lukius Kasan Mestar and his wife.
