Sunday, June 21, 2020 Apostle Rumantiyo conducted a centralized divine service through Youtube and audio from Lampung, based on 2 Corinthians 1:24 “Not that we have dominion over your faith, but are fellow workers for your joy; for by faith you stand.” Apostle conveyed the congregation some points regarding the duties of the Apostles.
He emphasized that the Apostles are servants of the congregation. “The apostolate preached the will of Jesus, but also made a contribution to our joy in God.” In the Bible text it is explained that the Apostle Paul concentrated on his mandate and authority. He had authority and mandate but were not used to dominate them. The Apostles make contribution by:
- Preaching priorities for spiritual wealth. This does not mean that we put aside worldly wealth, and then become poor. Spiritual wealth is needed so that we become rich in God, if we are rich in Christ then we can rejoice in God both in good days and evil days
- Keep the commandments of God. We want to keep His commandments and act according to His will so that we will always experience the presence of God in our lives
- Preaching repentance. Therefore we experience the fullness of God’s grace and have a path to our freedom in Christ
In order that the joy become real, the Apostles have to follow Jesus’ command, “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you” (Mat. 28:20). The duty of the apostolate from time to time is to do that work.
Jesus told his disciples that He would come back and take them with Him. “Our greatest joy is to participate in the glory of God.” Whoever acknowledges this with a faithful heart, will experience joy since today.
