In the last week in February, District Apostle Urs Hebeisen, leaders of New Apostolic Church of Southeast Asia, serving children of God from District of Jakarta in our church in Depok on February 28, 2010. The passage for the service was taken from
James 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
At the beginning of his sermon District Apostle Urs Hebeisen tells more than 1750 children of God in Depok on the plan visit of the Chief Apostle in 2011. “Depok congregation is in my heart. On 1 April 2011 Chief Apostle Leber will conduct divine service in Depok. Let us look forward, prepare ourselves, especially our hearts and souls.”
Pointing to the passage, the District Apostle says “Come closer to God, and He will be closer to you. Do we have to wait until the ship was sinking, and then we draw near to God? Are there should be a big problem to draw near to God? Do we just draw near to God if we have a problem or pain or upset and need relief? Certainly not. Because we had an objection, we improve our prayer. That naturally. Let us draw near to God, such as a magnetic field that pulls us. The closer the magnetic field, the stronger power and He will be closer to you. If outside the magnetic field, there is no power. ”
Closer to God then we come into the church, where we experience a strong magnetic field. We maintain our prayer life. In the prayers, we draw near to God. Prayer is the breath of the soul. Word is the food of our souls. Without food we can live for some time. But without breath we can not live. Prayer is like oxygen. Prayer draws us closer to the heart of God.
“I know a lot of the district brothers that has been coming here, but I can not call them one by one,” says the District Apostle. First he summoned District Evangelist Tedjomartono Setiarjo of Malang, East Java, then District Elder Jonathan of Papua, District Evangelist Joko Prayitno Trius of Lampung, District Elder Triyanto of Surakarta and the last Apostle Edy Isnugroho from Yogyakarta to help serve.
