The visit of Apostle Samuel Hadiwidagdo to Cikarang congregation on Sunday, January 27, 2019 ago had its own impression for the children of God there because not long ago, precisely on January 5, 2019 the congregation celebrated its 5th birthday. The congregation at the easternmost of the Jakarta Banten district had an initial number of 64 people at the inauguration 5 years ago. Now Cikarang congregattion continues to grow to be home to around 100 people in it.

“She answered, “Give me a blessing; since you have given me land in the South, give me also springs of water.” So he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs. ” This passage from Joshua 15:19 became the basis for the service which was attended by 137 souls.

For her wedding, Caleb offered his daughter a field. Noting that her land was exposed on the south side of the mountain and was not supplied with water, Achsah asked her father to give her some springs. Caleb responded to her request and gave her springs (or wells) upstream and downstream of the field. We see in this story an image of God’s blessing.

The upper spring is the spring from above, the Lord Jesus Christ. But to draw water or blessings, everyone must go to the spring, to gain salvation and mercy in Christ. Then we must draw water—we must appropriate the blessing, collect the word into our heart, be resolved to renounce evil, imitate the Lord, and be in fellowship with Him.

While the downstream springs are the springs below which include the Apostles and the ministers, as well as the congregation and brothers and sisters. It can be a great source of blessing, provided you invest in fellowship. If we want to be accepted, supported, and loved, let us start by accepting, supporting, and loving our brothers and sisters.

The image of the upper and lower springs also reminds us of the cycle of blessing. Blessings come from above—God blesses us richly. We respond to the blessing by blessing God – praise adn worship Him, thankful for His blessings, and be a source of blessing for others.
